this book is very well written an think that it is a very good book that i am liking. while i was reading it this past week i was starting to compare some of the things that were in her last book Crank which was another one of her books that i liked were similar because they have some themes that i think are good and that she is trying to keep in her books.
Some if the things that I like that was in her book was that she made lots of descriptions and things that were just introduced and that I was reading about was that she and a baby named Hunter and she was living with her parents and throughout the book the main character Kristina was thinking about doing drugs again, but each time she thought about it she made herself think about what her life really was, what she had, and her future. Thinking about it for her was really hard but so far she is not doing so and she caved in and took drugs. After she started she thought to herself and was thinking i don't want to go back to my "home" and also says that "this is my home, back there is just my artificial world" when she said this i was stunned because i thought she was really trying and i tought she was in control of what she was doing.
Also when she said that I was thinking about what is going to happen to her baby Hunter? what is going to happen to him? but then again he does have his grandparents and Ithink when she is going to try and think about it she will regret it because for me as a reader I was thinking about what she was going to do and how is she going to resolve some of the problems that she has caused just by taking in the one puff of smoking and when I was reading that part i was thinking to myself that she was not going to do it, but she ends up with there same mistakes that she made last time.
Some places in the book there are things that i have read and liked but something that i thought were like confusing, but reading the book so far made me think about things that happen to some teens at the age of the main character in the book, have the same problems and are hard to recover from because drugs as we all know are addicting and are things that you cannot just stop. but overall i was thinking about her stupid decision and what she has done.

Creatures in Verse BY Marjorie B.
I am reading about a poetry book that i think is pretty interesting and that the book describes about all kinds of insects, creatures, and also animal. When i read each of the poems in the book they make me think about each of the creature the author is talking about.
One of the poems that i read which was three ways of looking at a blackbird this describes three different prospective's which i think is good because it kinds of shows you something that you try to see in everyday life stories. But when you read all it sound and looks like it is coming from different view point that i think are great.
Also this is something that i see in a lot of the poems and that they have different meaning that i think stand out throughout most of them, but some just don't make scene.

Fall out
This book is something that i think has a lot of issues that need to be resolved and are really things that are big important aspects of the book. One of the issues is that the main character is really trying to think of what his parents were like and he is just seeming to really want to know who they are and why did they never really became a family. This is something that is going through his head and is something that he really wants to know about. But the thing that i think is that he should forget about them if they didn't do anything for him and left him so whats the point in wanting to know them.
But having this is your mind never seems to go away and he seems as if he really wants to know who his parents are. Also there are things that confuse me that are making me think different things and i think that i may reread the parts i mostly didn't understand.

Crank By Ellen Hopkins
When reading the book I think that there is somebodies prospective that is missing is the girl herself that the mother is talking about. This is basically coming from her mother because it say that it came from her own family and that this was something that she probably needed to express in a way that she couldn't in herself.
The reason I think that it is the girls because it shows that she didn't have no say in it and that it really didn't show her prospective in a way that I thought probably would have been more clearer of a view. But when reading the book I thought to myself that she was a messed up person that really needed help but as I was reading I thought that she Ellen didn't really know what Bree (the main character) felt like and that shows one reason that her prospective was missing.
When reading some parts of the book I thought that she was doing drugs maybe because she wanted some attention from her parents because when some kids have parents that are divorced and don't really care about what their child does you do what you want and think that they don't care about me so they probably want to do something that would get their attention and when something like that happens they tend to see how they act but some don't even care so this may have been one her problems and that's something that Ellen Hopkins wants you to know.
but the main thing is that her prospective was mostly missing was because she had not sense of what the main character had or even felt. So therefor there probably a reason for doing something like that and would make her who she is today.

Crank By Ellen Hopkins
In the book I have been seeing that how people get addicted to one thing looking like they want attention by doing something that would mess you up. But the real thing i am trying to say is that if you are looking for attention get it by doing something else do not make it something that messes you up in ways that are horrible.
"To think about besides my dad's less than palatial apartment. If he qualified for royalty in true blue collar kingdom. I had zero desire to see how the working class lived" this is a quote from the book that i thought would relate to what I would be talking about. this quote is showing me that the main character Bree is someone who cares less about she thinks of something that could be important or not. but also show that you cannot trust her with something, she may seem like a good person, but she is someone who is doing something that is really unnecessary and that is showing how other people would react. another part of the quote is showing how her mother and father are split up and that in a child's life this could effect them and their future because what you are doing to them is making them forget that you were together and how much fun you had. but when something like that impacts a child's life it could make them do something you have never wanted them to do and you could have prevented it.
when you are in a family that has that kind of problem you would have to explain slowly to a child and show them nothing has really changed and make things seem like that they are the same. Something like this makes me think of how i know a couple of friends that are in that kind of situation.

THE GENIUS IN ALL OF US by David Shenk
Question: What would she look like? What will she be like? pg 15
In the book they talk about how people think they get their intelligence from their family or relatives, but that's not how your genes work. The author Shenk talks about how your genes are just something that are just made up and you get your intelligence from how you are raised and what environment you are put in.
The environment is something that is said in the book many time and for me this is something that is important and answers the two questions. The questions ask "how the girl will look like" well pretty much she is going to look like her father or mother, and in the book it talks about how the environment is an important aspect of the book and determining if the baby look like the mother or Father you would have to see how they nurture the baby and a how they are working things out with diets and nutrients. so the baby will turn out how it was basically raised and look like the mother or father.
nurture is something that is said a lot in the book and that this would answer the second question. well nurture is something that would have to do to the environment you are living in and how you are feeding and raising the kid. So those things I just said are something that would show how the girl would turn out because it would really be depending on how the baby is raised and what environment they would be living. You are some one who needs to nurture what you have, and develop the person to be a better person and give what you didn't have when growing up

Hurricans
I have been reading has become interesting to me cause in a situation where there are things other people don't know about you can be a person who could be helpful and use what you have learned from the book. When reading the book and reading about the peoples stories was interesting because it’s something kind shown an example of how something would work out.
Hurricane is a book that I like because it would be making you think about a situation that would have a similarity to what the person in the book had and you could see if any of those things would help you and show what things are more of something you shouldn’t do and should do. After finishing the book I was thinking about if the author was in some kind of situation and had to write about it because it was probably to show how things like this should really be well thought about if you were to stay in your home or even a friend’s home.

The Giver
There is not much of a question that he had asked in the book that i can answer but i could say some thing about the book. well one thing is that having things like a utopia is something way different and you would see it as the opposite of a utopia. and looking at the society in the giver really looks like its not a good place to be because, why enforce rules like they have in the book when you know there are other choices then just doing one thing. it is kind of showing you they don't want you thinking of other things you can do they just want you thinking of what they want you to think instead of fending or doing things for you self. One last thing is that there are rules that are enforced in school and i think private things like that is something people should say.

blog post of: The Gier
on of the questions the main character (Jonas) had was that why does he have to do this job? and I thought maybe society knows whats best but you always have to be what you want to be so why fallow what they say when you can do whatever you would want. but there is also the fact that there are rules and when there are rules there are always consequence's so your trapped and its hard to decide what to do in a society were they chose what you have to do.
